Had a lovely lay-in bed this morning. Chilled, relaxed and definitely rested. So what to do for the rest of the day?
It didn’t take long before I knew what the answer was going to be – #TrainingTime – lol. I got sorted and when to the gym to have a little bit of a play & some fun. No running needed today just cardio & weights for a change.
It has been a few weeks since doing a proper job on my Static Bike Hill Climbing Challenge and felt it was an opportunity for me to do a 60mins session. I love doing this challenge and can feel the tempo in my legs when climbing the hills. The heat/humidity in the gym doesn’t always help and that make it just a little bit harder. This time I was the only one in the gym and I could just go for it….. 60mins later I was drenched in sweat and feeling shattered – I had completed 53.78km of hill climbing, not my best distance for the time period, but still an impressive effort if I say so myself.
The remainder of the session was to just focus on some upper body weight training, building up my strength for the ‘Hell Up North’ event in 3 weeks.
Then home, a Hot Lobster Bath & a Protein Shake was the order of the day and a wind-down ready for tomorrow.
